Ever since my sister has gone off to collage, the holidays really have become more special since they're the only time that she can come all the way home. Something to be thankful for indeed.
Of course this means that we're going to be breaking out the Star Trek DVD since I promised I wouldn't watch it until she got home. I definitely plan to go through my list of "things to do when you get ST XI." Since I've first posted this, there have been some additions to the list...
Top Ten Twelve Things To Do When You Get Star Trek 20091. Watch the blooper reel. It is extremely funny -->
[link] 2. Compare the old Enterprise with the new Enterprise, then formulate long explanations about why the new one is so much more high tech then the old one.
3. Watch the movie with the cast/director commentary
4. Watch all deleted scenes and rant about how they all should have been kept in the movie.
5, Get a giant bag of M & M's. Eat one every time you see a lens flare. See what you get to the end of first: the movie or the bag of M & M's.
6. Count how many times Kirk gets beat up...then create long explanations about why he was such a lousy fighter
7. Find Scotty's pet tribble
8. Find the obvious physics error in the scene where Kirk and Sulu are free falling above Vulcan after falling off the drill
9. Watch, and re-watch all scenes involving a) little Spock, b) Chekov, c) grouchy McCoy
10. At the end of the movie, say the words of the TOS intro along with the voice over...then sing along to the main theme at the top of your voice. Make up a dance to go with it.
11. Find R2D2 in the scene when the Enterprise comes out of warp near Vulcan
12. Count how many times the number "47" crops up. This was sort of an inside joke in the original series, and was always hidden somewhere in the show.
